In this inspiring interview, Tiff shares her journey from local crew to touring with Coldplay, her struggles with burnout, and her transformative work in therapy for the touring industry. Discover practical insights on mental health, sobriety, and supporting crew and artists on the road.
Tiff spent 21 years in the trenches of the music industry as a lighting tech and tour manager. After years of running on fumes, she transitioned from the lighting desk to the therapy room, earning her Masters in Psychotherapy to support the "road family."
Through Therapy on Tour, Tiff provides specialized mental health support for artists and crew, focusing on how to maintain relationships, physical health, and mental clarity while living out of a flight case. She is on a mission to prove that while the show must go on, it shouldn't have to break you.
Tiff Hudson
Integrative Psychotherapist & Founder, Therapy on Tour
Tiff Hudson is an integrative psychotherapist who speaks the "language of the road" because she lived it for over two decades. As the founder of Therapy on Tour, she has bridged the gap between the high-pressure world of live music and essential mental health support, helping artists and crew navigate the unique psychological toll of life in flight cases.
From the Rigging to the Room
Tiff’s career began at 19 as local crew in London, eventually evolving into a 21-year journey as a Lighting Engineer, Tour Manager, and Tour Band Assistant. From operating followspots at the Royal Albert Hall to managing logistics for global giants like Coldplay and Placebo, Tiff thrived in the "on-the-road" lifestyle.
However, after a decade of running on fumes and "smashing her body into a million pieces," she hit a wall. Walking into therapy for the first time didn't just help her heal—it sparked a new calling. In 2015, she began her psychotherapy training, even returning to the road for a two-year world tour in 2016 to fund her Masters Degree from Regent’s University London.
Therapy on Tour
Founded in 2019, Therapy on Tour is Tiff’s mission to make mental health support accessible and relevant to the touring community. She understands that "feelings are data" and that the industry’s "show must go on" mentality often comes at a steep personal cost.
Today, Tiff works primarily online with touring artists, crew, and their partners. Her expertise covers:
The Psychological Impact of Touring: Helping professionals process what life on a bus does to the head, heart, and body.
Relationship Sustainability: Navigating intimacy and connection while living out of a suitcase.
Conflict Resolution: Utilizing her background as a Qualified Mediator to facilitate professional and personal partnerships.
Expertise & Advocacy
Beyond her private practice, Tiff is a dedicated advocate for community well-being, having volunteered as a ChildLine counselor and worked within the NHS as a Psychosexual Therapy Trainee. She is a registered member of the BACP and remains a definitive voice on how to make the touring industry more sustainable for the humans who power it.

Integrative Psychotherapist & Founder, Therapy on Tour (Former Touring Lampy)
Tiff is an integrative psychotherapist and founder of Therapy on Tour, specialising in mental health support for the touring music world.
She has spent 21 years working in live music, starting as local crew in London at 19 and going on to work as a lighting tech, tour band assistant and tour manager. That experience changed everything and sent her back to school.
In 2015 she began psychotherapy training, jumped back out on a two‑year world tour in 2016–17 to fund her Masters (where she met Leading Ladies host Sarah Birnie), then returned to the UK to finish training and set up Therapy on Tour in 2019.
