Having developed a love for Theatre in high school, Patti’s journey to the Entertainment industry took her
to Temple University to pursue an interest in Costume Design which segued into Lighting Design. After
getting her degree, she developed her design craft in plays, musical theater and opera. She worked for
the Philadelphia-area lighting companies Aladdin Stage Lighting and McManus Enterprises and was the
first woman to work for IATSE Local #8.
McManus gave Patti the opportunity to hit the road as an electrician on the Patti LaBelle Tour. Several
years and many acts followed until she eventually met her future husband while working on a Jackson
Browne World tour. Scott asked how long she intended to be on the road and she landed at Obie’s
Lighting working her way up to VP of Marketing.
Following Obies, she had a wild 4 year stint at Production Resource Group that involved the acquisition
and consolidation of 19 companies during that period.
After taking a year sabbatical, Patti joined The Designory, a product marketing agency in 2001. She was
there for 25 years, progressing from Account Director on several accounts to VP, Efficacy. Currently
retired, she is trying to figure out what's next!
