Event Producer | Production Manager | Live & Experiential Marketing Leader
Malcolm Weldon is a veteran event producer and production manager with more than 30 years of experience delivering stadium tours, festivals, residencies, and globally broadcast live events for some of the biggest artists in the world. A 23rd Annual Parnelli Awards Lifetime Achievement Honoree, Malcolm is widely respected not only for his production leadership, but for his humility—often insisting he’s “just an old guy with new knees pushing boxes.”
Malcolm’s passion for live production began the night he saw Earth, Wind & Fire in concert. Inspired, he attended sound engineering school in the early 1980s and—with a little help from his grandmother—landed a pivotal role as House Sound Engineer at the Beverly Theater in Los Angeles. From 1982 to 1988, he mixed live performances for artists including Miles Davis, Simple Minds, R.E.M., and George Clinton—an experience that became the foundation for a remarkable touring career.
He went on to stage-manage major festivals and stadium tours, including the MTV stadium tour with Paula Abdul, before stepping into full-scale production leadership. Over the decades, Malcolm has served as Production Manager for global, brand-defining tours including Beyoncé’s Formation Tour and Cowboy Carter Tour, P!nk’s Beautiful Trauma and Summer Carnival tours, as well as world tours for Janet Jackson, Lionel Richie, Sade, Cher, Tina Turner, Bad Bunny, The Eagles, Coldplay, Pearl Jam, Prince, Bette Midler, Stevie Nicks, Whitney Houston, Mariah…Read More
